LABOR-REPROFILE CYLINDER HEAD
Labor to cut a new squish band and reface the gasket surface of a stock Lambretta cylinder head to work with Wiseco & Japanese pistons, which usually have a much flatter piston dome than standard Lambretta pistons. Also applicable to modifications involving stock pistons when little or no increase in capacity is being done but a small increase in compression is desired. After the new squish band has been cut, the combustion chamber is left as is, as shown on the left side of the photo. The compression usually ends up being slightly higher than standard, depending on the type of head and piston being used. In some cases the resulting compression ratio is too high for use with pump fuel that is rated at 93 octane or lower, requiring extra labor as described in #0250.CC. |
