More Info on Standard Exhausts

Tutto Lambretta manufactures the highest quality standard exhaust systems available anywhere, and they have done some exhaustive research (no pun intended!) which may have a big impact on the performance of your scooter.

Innocenti issued only two different part numbers throughout the Series 3 range, and one part number for all Series 1/2 Li and Series 2 TV models. However, by cutting open various original equipment mufflers, Tutto Lambretta discovered three different types of internal baffling for the various Series 3 models and two distinct types of baffling for Series 1/2 models, and they have incorporated these findings into their range of products. Here is a more detailed breakdown of the various versions:

301.AF - For most Series 3 Li125, Li150, Li125 Special, and Li150 Special models. Innocenti part #19918060. This muffler is marked "T. Lambretta" on the back side of the main bracket and does not have the third bracket for the vertically placed 8mm bolt underneath the engine case as seen on late Series 3's. If your scooter has the chrome lock ring between the bottom of the headset and top of the legshields then this is most likely the correct muffler for you. Note that #301.AFB will interchange, but the third bracket will not be utilized. Can also be used on Serveta Li150 Special models.

301.AFB - For late Series 3 Li125, Li150, Li125 Special, and Li150 Special models. Innocenti part #19918060. It is marked "T. Lambretta" on the back side of the main bracket, and it has a third bracket for an 8mm bolt which threads vertically into a lug underneath the engine case. Fit and performance otherwise the same as #301.AF. Can also be used on Serveta Li150 Special models.

301.AFSX - For early Series 3 SX150, SX200, TV175 and TV200 models. Innocenti part #19518510. This muffler is marked "T. Lambretta SX" on the back side of the main bracket and does not have the third bracket for the vertically placed 8mm bolt underneath the engine case as seen on late Series 3's. Note that #301.AFSXB will interchange, but the third bracket will not be utilized. Can also be used on Serveta SX200 (Jet 200) models and Li models bored to 175cc and larger.

301.AFSXB - For late Series 3 SX150, SX200, TV175 and TV200 models. Innocenti part #19518510. It is marked "T. Lambretta SX" on the back side of the main bracket, and it has a third bracket for an 8mm bolt which threads vertically into a lug underneath the engine case. Fit and performance otherwise the same as #301.AFSX. Can also be used on Serveta SX200 (Jet 200) models and Li models bored to 175cc and larger.

301.DL - For all Innocenti DL/GP125-150-200 models. Innocenti part #19518510. Marked "T. Lambretta", but easily spotted by the oval shaped tailpipe tip. This is for Italian spec DL125/150/200's using a standard Series 3 type u-bend. Do not confuse with the large bore Indian GP200 system #301.E. Can also be used on Indian SIL Grand Prix models.

301.AF2 - For all stock Series 1 and 2 Li models. Innocenti part #19018130. Marked "T. Lambretta" on the back side of the main bracket. Do not use on TV175 Series 2 or on Li Series 1 or 2 models bored to 175cc or more. Use with tailpipe #303.A.

301.AF2TV - For all Series 2 TV175 models. Innocenti part #19018240. Marked "T. Lambretta TV" on the back side of the main bracket. Must also be used on Li Series 1 or 2 models when bored to 175cc or more. Do not use on standard Li Series 1 and 2 machines. Use with tailpipe #303.A.

301.J - For LD Mark III models. Innocenti part #12184002. Identifiable by the the welded seam running horizontally around the body and the absence of any allen plugs for cleaning access. Fits any D or LD model, uses plain tailpipe #303.B (Innocenti part #12181431). Tutto Lambretta mufflers for LD and earlier models are easily recognized by the machined flange which is welded to the top of the header pipe as per original. All other Italian manufacturers cut corners by just flaring out the tubing at the top, which leads to a weak joint and constant leakage.

301.L - For LD Mark I/II models. Innocenti part #08180400. Identifiable by the by the modular construction with removable end caps at each end. Fits any LD model up to 1956, has an integral tailpipe which can be cut off leaving about 1.5" exposed to clamp on chrome "coffee pot" silencer #303.C. Tutto Lambretta mufflers for LD and earlier models are easily recognized by the machined flange which is welded to the top of the header pipe as per original. All other Italian manufacturers cut corners by just flaring out the tubing at the top, which leads to a weak joint and constant leakage.

301.M - For LD Mark II/III models. This version is notable for the two allen plugs on the right side for cleaning access, and the short straight tailpipe which is secured by a nut at the end. It was first seen on Mark II LD's in about 1955, and was fitted to early Mark III versions through 1957. Tutto Lambretta mufflers for LD and earlier models are easily recognized by the machined flange which is welded to the top of the header pipe as per original. All other Italian manufacturers cut corners by just flaring out the tubing at the top, which leads to a weak joint and constant leakage.
