What's New at Lambretta Works, Inc.

Fall is here and that means cooler weather and shorter days, but that doesn't mean you have to cut your riding short. However, you should make sure your lights are all working properly and your tires are in good enough condition to handle whatever conditions you might encounter throughout the fall and winter seasons. If you own a Series 1, 2 or 3 model, one way to make a drastic improvement to not only the brightness of your lights but the reliability of your whole electrical system is to fit a 12 volt electronic ignition kit. Our shipment of these kits has just arrived, so read below for more details if you are ready to do the upgrade. And while we haven't found any studded snow tires yet in 10" sizes for those of you in the northern regions, we can recommend the Michelin S83 as the best all around tire for any type of road conditions. Series 1/2/3 Lambretta models (and most large frame Vespas) can use the standard 3.50"x10" size or the slightly wider 100/90x10" size for a little extra contact patch with the road, and we also stock them in 3.00"x10" for J range and Vespa small frame machines.

Now is also a great time to start thinking about whatever winter projects you have in mind. Huge Stock of Parts Has Arrived From India!

Are you looking for a brand new engine for your Lambretta? Good, because a huge shipment from India has just arrived in California and will be at our doors around October 22nd - including brand new GP200 engines ready to bolt into any Series 1, 2, or 3 model. These engines come from the most reputable source in India, which should help eliminate most of the teething issues that SIL engines often have. For the most part these engines run trouble-free right out of the box, but for an extra $200 we will tear down and inspect the engine, replace any faulty parts, repair any problems we find due to poor assembly or manufacturing, and offer a six month warranty on the engine. Engines which are sold 'as-is' include no warranty.	If you are sick of push starting your Lambretta, chances are that it's your tired old 6 volt points ignition system that is to blame. You can eliminate this problem for good with an electronic ignition kit. Please note that it does not add electric start (don't throw away that kickstart pedal!), but because the spark is produced by a transistorized system rather than points and condensor, you will see immediate benefits in ease of starting, brighter lights, better fuel mileage, and a slight increase in performance. And with no points or condensor to fail, tune-ups are a breeze! They come in two versions: one for Li/SX/TV/Serveta crankshafts and one for GP/DL crankshafts. Sorry, not available for LD/D and J range models.

New for the winter riding season are these pull over hooded sweatshirts with our logo proudly emblazened across the front, as well as a revised version of the long sleeve and short sleeve T-shirts with more vibrant colors. Jenny is a long time scooterist and member of the Pharaohs Scooter Club who loves a good rally and wants to help you keep your Lambretta going strong by taking your phone orders and helping you find just what you need. Oh yeah, and by the way Jenny's hiring is only the latest change to our staff since the Alfaros took over LambrettaWorks. Many of you have probably already dealt with Chris Bozman, who came on board this spring and handles much of the mail order processing as well as being in charge of purchasing. Chris is also a member of the Pharaohs, and his collection of rides includes a Jet 200, a Suzuki motorbike, and three of those other scooters that start with a "V"...
